That's Brillant!

I love ideas and this is called IdeaPaint! It turns any surface into a dry-eraser surface. I would paint an old desk, kids' doors, kitchen cabinets and office walls in this paint. Very cool! Look at the gallery of pictures...

Sweet Dreams

I love cupcakes and especially scrumptiously decorated ones. Ming Makes Cupcakes will make your mouth water, if not your sweet tooth twinge. I wanted to experiment with these recipes, but my time has been eaten up with SEO and finding computer bugs. By the end of the year, I hope to make at least two of these recipes, but for now I sit and daydream.

Countdown Red Light. Yes, Please!

Why did it take someone so long to think of this? It is a stoplight that lets you know how much longer the light has until it turns green by the red light countdown around the actual stoplight. Brilliant! I much rather have these than those pesky ole red light cameras. I think I would be more incline to show patience if I knew it "knew" I was there waiting... to GO!

Color My Childhood

How awesome are these cardboard houses by Javier Mariscal? It would be so much fun to play with these little houses and color in all of parts. (cue grandpa voice) "In my day..." we took old appliance boxes and made fort houses. One time, we made our on little city. Well, if I had a kid and an extra $275 lying around, I would really be tempted to buy this house for he or she. Maybe I will buy this for me with our tax return. We could always claim it as my home office, right?

Ride the Swell... this Season

The Swell Season (or as I call them - my best buds) have released another album called Strict Joy. Kris and I bought the Deluxe Edition, of course. They are so passionate about love and the journey that we all call "Life." Their songs will strike a chord with anyone. We have seen them in concert once together in Louisville, KY with his sister Sarah. Then, we were planning to see them for our 2nd anniversary last year, but Kris unexpectedly had to go on a business trip. So, my sister filled in for Kris and enjoyed the show at the Ryman. They were AMAZING! We actually met them after the show. They are very down-to-earth and generous with their fans. I shouldn't be surprised by how many people are discovering and recognizing their talents (they did win the Oscar in case you forgot for Once). I have been listening to them and The Frames, while driving back and forth to Jackson. Good times!

I am in awe of Glen's voice. He is the most emotional singer I have ever heard. I love his stories and humor. If your heart doesn't hurt when you hear him sing "This Low," then you aren't alive. Another song that gets me every time is "Say It To Me Now." Markéta Irglová's voice is very soothing and pure as well. When she takes the lead on "All the Way Down, she puts me in the most solemn and happy mood. Glen sings it well too. I love that even my American Idol Kris Allen sang "Falling Slowly" on Idol this past season bringing Swell Season to a whole new audience. (Sidenote: this is also my Kris' ringtone on my phone) I wanted to share some videos of my best buds, Glen and Markéta. Yeah, we are best buds since I met them in Nashville... Enjoy!

The Swell Season holds a private performance in The Room Live. Special introduction by Matthew Perry.

Who's Whoo Shoes

Recently, I bought these for Hayley Clagg's new addition, Connor. They are too cute! I guess I can't escape owls from all my Chi Omega years. I found them at Bugaloo. If you decide to buy something, please use the link above - I'm an affiliate for them. Hootie Hoo!

iLikey

Kris and I are now a part of the largest wireless network, AT&T. Yes, we joined the dark side and now have what I said I would never own again. We were out of our Sprint contract and of course, we wanted to see what was out there. Naturally, I gravitated to AT&T because of the iPhone. So we went on Saturday and found out that our monthly bill would be lower than with Sprint and then we learned Kris' work give 18% off. So it was a no brainer. We saved money for new phones and just as you would have guessed by now. I got the iPhone.

It is seriously the best piece of technology that I have ever owned and that is saying a lot. It is amazing!! Two thumbs up, way up! Kris got a cool phone too. He didn't want the fancy iPhone because of his job, but he enjoys mine. I can now update my blog from my phone. How cool! So when I'm in class about to fall asleep, I can play on the internet. The real internet, not WAP. Yea! I'm such a nerd. Well, I have much more to write about but I don't want to jinx ourselves. I will explain later this week. Have a wonderful week! Happy Monday!

Step by Step: NKOTB Reunion

There is talk of a New Kids on the Block Reunion Tour. I'm already digging out my oversized band button and jean jacket. Hangin Tough! Cover Girl! You Got the Right Stuff! I'll Be Loving You Forever! How fun would that show be? I wish I had a teenage daughter and could drag her to the concert if it were to happen. Step by Step, I will be covering this breaking news (well, the rumor at least.) For the record, my favorite was Jonathan Knight, no Joey love here.
